The Basque Government’s commitment to nanosciences came to light with the idea of creating new opportunities for all the agents that make up the scientific, technological, business and social fabric of the Basque Country. It was, in short, started with the conviction that a commitment to micro and nanotechnologies was a commitment to the competitiveness and diversification of our business fabric and it is also a clear commitment to the well-being of the whole Basque society.
The world of nanoscience and nanotechnology is a source of opportunities that we cannot overlook. The most important countries in the world have been aware of this reality for some time now, and in the light of this situation, the Basque Country is not going to look the other way. We are willing and able to carry out this revolution, and we are convinced that a commitment to nanosciences means a genuine opportunity for all. The Basque Government has placed the initial boost and commitment, and we call on all the other public and private, business, scientific, technological and social agents to take over this endeavour, as it belongs to all, and to take the Basque Country to ever higher levels of business competitiveness and social welfare.
